Yesterday, I was going through some old papers and cards when I found this poem immersed in a note from my cousin that she wrote to me when my Father died almost 20 years ago. I don't know the author of this poem.
Coincidentally an animal friend of mine died today. Prayers for her as she passes over.
There is an open gate
at the end of the road
Through which each
must go alone
And there is a light
We can not see
Our Father claims His own
Beyond the gate our loved one
finds happiness and rest
and there is comfort in the thought
That a loving God knows best.
God's eyes are even on the sparrow. He states in Matthew 10:29-31 New International Version (NIV)
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care
For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. (Psalm 50:10)
